You are the one in this picture.
Living, breathing, moving,
shooting a star across the charcoal sky
in the moment of expression.
You whip by the silky black veil
and the world whisks by you.
 
Deep in thought,
the music breaths with you.
Its rhythm complements yours.
Your body still sways in the silence.
 
Observers, in awe of movement
Witnesses to an epiphany.
Smeared colors: black, red, flesh
who zip around the mysterious canvas.
 
Then – there you are, frozen
in the moment – you aren’t afraid
to stare straight into the white light.
 
What you could be
a glow, an illumination, a silhouette.
Significant speck of pigment
positioned on blank canvas
covering smeared paint.
 
If you look back with your skeptical mind
and say those lights were insignificant;
you are clearly blinded by the shadows.
